About Tattersall Financial Services

Tattersall Financial Services, LLC serves as an Investment Advisor and Employee Benefit Consultant to clients and their small-to-medium sized businesses. We are owned and operated by John E. Tattersall, Certified Financial Planner™, an Accredited Investment Fiduciary®.  Mr. Tattersall has over 25 years experience in the financial services industry and is a registered representative with LPL Financial. Investment advice offered through Wealthcare Advisory Partners, a registered Investment advisor.

Mr. Tattersall grew up 30 miles west of Cleveland and 11 miles south of Lake Erie in a town called Elyria Ohio. He attended Lake Ridge Academy and graduated from Bridgeton Academy in North Bridgeton, Maine in 1982.

John graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics at Arizona State University (ASU) in 1986. During his time at ASU, John was a brother of Sigma Nu fraternity, directed programs for Arizona State University Student Government (FCEP), worked with Merrill Lynch Pierce Fenner & Smith as a corporate intern, both there, and in the headquarters of the office of the Floor Brokers at One Liberty Plaza in New York City.  John began an investment career three weeks after the stock market crash of 1987–a particularly unique event at the start of his career. That experience has played a significant role in the care and approach John applies to investors, their investment goals, and the potential for unacceptable outcomes.

In 1990, John moved to Washington DC, to trade fixed income securities and manage several business components of a leading non-profit.  In 1995, John returned to a career in financial services — never forgetting what he learned of the needs of the individual investor through negative market and economic cycles.

After years of working with large investment and insurance companies, John created Tattersall Financial Services with these specific goals in mind:

      1. Understanding that the financial and insurance needs of both the business owner and the individual should be a core competency of the practice;
      2. Create a process that organizes the clients needs, objectives, and resources to pursue their goals;
      3. Apply as much “science” as possible to the planning process in assessing risks and the likeliness of desired outcomes;
      4. Be unencumbered to deploy any approved product that meets the client’s investment and insurance needs,  and
      5. Align the organization with industry professionals, including Tax, Estate Planning, Retirement Plans, Third Party Administrators, and Employee Benefit specialists to assist in the guidance of our clients and ultimately to their planning goals.
    1. Our firm’s approach includes taking the time to understand the client and connect with their beliefs, goals, and values. If we succeed, we should improve their financial position and ultimately their lives. We measure our success by the level of constant contact we have in our clients’ lives and the intimate role we play as their advocates.
